How to produce hydrogen, an electric and energy-storage medium, in a “low carbon” manner, and how to secure a stable supply of energy?”
The conversion and storage of green energy is one of the most critical issues confronting humankind.
In order to solve these problems, this program nurtures global leaders who can achieve the best balance of various energy conversion devices, through an educational approach where industry, government, and academia share a common vision.

Mr. Yang wins GSC Award in poster session at 7th JACI/GSC Symposium held on June 14-15th, 2018. His thesis is ‘Electrochemical Properties of Transition Metal Hydroxide – Conductive Polymer Hybrid and Its Orientation in Magnetic Field’. He prepared layered double hydroxide composed of transition metal hydroxide and polyaniline hybrid with/without strong magnetic field for orientation, and examine its electrochemical property for use of supercapacitor. He said “I am very honored that I was able to win such an award. I appreciate Prof. Takei and the members in the group.”

Dr. Guoyu Shi has received the 2017 Chinese Government Award for Outstanding Self-Financed Students Abroad. Only 23 students have been selected as the winners among many self-financed students in Japan. On April 20th, Dr. Shi received the certificate and the scholarship from the Chinese Ambassador, Mr. Cheng Yonghua, and the Minister, Ms. Guo Yan, at the Chinese Embassy in Tokyo. The 2017 Qualifying Examination and Master’s Thesis Presentation were held for 2 days on February 15th and 16th. 10 students from master course made presentations about the research results (20 minutes), followed by a question-and-answer session (10 minutes). The students answered each question with enthusiasm and had productive discussions. After the event, a regular social gathering party was held, where professors and students shared a enjoyable time together.
