Ms. Laura Tiong won “Best Poster Award”.

Ms. Laura Tiong(Host Resercher: Prof.Masaharu Komiyama) won “Best Poster Award”
commended by ACS Catalysis at the Seventh Tokyo Conference on Advanced Catalytic
Science and Technology(TOCAT7 Kyoto 2014) held in Kyoto from the 1st to 6th of June.
The theme of the award is “Gasification of Microalgae(Chlorella vulgaris) in
Supercritical Water Using Ru and Ni Catalysts.”

In this poster the effects of catalysts on the energy conversion reaction
of microalgae under supercritical water conditions were investigated,
and discovered for the first time that the catalytic selectivity for
this reaction is structure insensitive.

She said “It was a very great honor for me to receive the
poster award from the organizers. I would like to express my gratitude
to everyone in my laboratory especially my supervisor Professor Komiyama
for all his precious guidance and advices. I will continue to work
harder on my research and hopefully more results could be obtained in
the future.”
