The 3rd International Seminar was held on the 25th – 27th August at Yatsugatake Royal Hotel, Yamanashi, Japan. This seminar has been programmed for the benefit of students and young scientists in the field of green energy conversion research. Approximately 130 researchers from Japan, USA, European and Asian countries attended. Lectures were given by four invited speakers, Prof. Hideo Hosono (Tokyo Institute of Technology, Japan), Dr. Eisuke Masada (Railway Technical Research Institute, Japan), Prof. Detlef Bahnemann (Gottfried Wilhelm Leibniz Universiaet Hannover, Germany), Prof. Steven Holdcroft（Simon Fraser University）. Poster presentations were given by students and young researchers, who also participated in group discussions.
