The 6th International Seminar for Special Doctoral Program “Green Energy Conversion Science and Technology”

Energy and environmental issues are some of the greatest challenges facing humankind. In order to solve them, the conversion and storage of green energy is expected to make a very significant contribution. This International Seminar is designed for young researchers, mostly graduate students, to participate in lively discussions on future energy conversion technology, focusing on the areas of fuel cells, solar energy, energy conversion, and the generation of new energy. Professors and engineers who have played pioneering roles in these areas are invited as lecturers to speak about the latest research developments. This year, the 5th year of the Seminar, we will widely solicit participation from young researchers at home and abroad who are engaged in research and development that center on the four areas listed above. To provide an opportunity for them to take the initiative throughout the Seminar, which indeed is one of the main intentions, presentations of posters and small-group discussions will be included, with the aim of gaining in-depth understanding and promoting research exchange at a high level not usually possible at many academic meetings. Participants will also have the valuable opportunity to hear the opinions of lecturers concerning the trends and future prospects in energy conversion technology. It is our wish that the seminar will nurture exchanges among young researchers as well as between them and the lecturers, and they enjoy the relaxing and natural surroundings near majestic Mt. Yatsugatake.
